settle or sizzle

So, some people are really scared to stand as a witness, therefore they offer a settlement instead. Good. I am all for amicable out of court settlements. But this offer for settlement must not be another way of depriving and delaying the party of what he  would originally be entitled to in the original consensus. If it is, I will definitely opt for a trial full-fledged. Then  no stone is to be left unturned.
